Empowering Kids Through Confidence & Self-Defence – Our Anti-Bullying Workshop Recap
This past weekend, we had the incredible opportunity to host an Anti-Bullying Workshop for kids — and what a powerful day it was!
Led by the amazing Dave, a Purple Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), and Lana, a 1st Dan Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, the session was all about building confidence, resilience, and practical self-defence skills that can help kids feel safer and more empowered.
What We Covered:
Confidence-building exercises to help kids stand tall and use their voice
Simple self-defence techniques designed to safely de-escalate bullying situations
Role-playing scenarios to practice assertiveness in a safe, supportive environment
Discussions on respect, boundaries, and how to seek help when needed
Dave and Lana brought a perfect balance of discipline, compassion, and fun to the workshop. Their martial arts expertise — combined with a genuine passion for mentoring youth — created an environment where every child felt seen, supported, and encouraged to be their strongest self.
Why It Matters:
Bullying is still a reality for many kids, but with the right tools, they can learn to face those challenges with courage. Our goal was to not only teach physical techniques but to help kids walk away with something even more powerful: self-belief.
A huge thank you to all the families who joined us. We’re so proud of the effort and enthusiasm every child brought to the mat!
With heartfelt thanks,
